Sew Crazy!!

Sewing has never been one of my strong points (along with cooking!) but I'm always up for a challenge, so when I wanted some custom made tablecloths for the markets, I thought I'd give it a go!

I'm pleased to say that I managed to create exactly what I was after and think they turned out really well - just don't look too closely at the sewing. I originally was just going to do the blue along the bottom but got adventurous and added an applique of my cute little pink bird!

I got to try them out yesterday at the Boutique Markets and so far, they are still in one piece! It was such a gorgeous day at Portside Wharf with lots of lovely customers and as always, friendly stallholders. I must remember the sunscreen and hat though, as I'm a little pink today. I also got to showcase a couple of new products - Button Office Accessories and Winter Crochet Caps. I'll be adding these to the website shortly.

Now back to my trusty glue gun in preparation for Mathilda's Market this Saturday.

Thanks to Rachael from the Boutique Markets for the photos as I had forgotten to take my camera!

Customer Cuties!

Here are some photos of some of my lovely customers yesterday at the Boutique Markets. The toggle headbands were proving extremely popular!

There was a little bit of rain around and some wind, but thankfully the sun shone for the majority of the day. It's always fun catching up with fellow stallholders and meeting new and existing customers!

Workspaces

I always love seeing other people's workspaces, so I thought I'd share mine. I love having everything at hand and seeing all my fabric and ribbon together inspires me to "make".

Thanks to Ikea, I'm able to keep all my beads, fabric, felt and ribbon in one rather small space. And the large desk area is a godsend when I'm in full assembly line mode!

Now to try and keep it this organised!!

About Abbey J

Wanting to combine the love of my children and the love of jewellery, I designed a mother bracelet featuring my family's birthstones. Then came the requests from friends and family for their own mother bracelets. This was the beginning of my small business adventure and in 2007 I opened an online store called Heart on Your Sleeve. I then expanded my range to include children's jewellery and born out of a need to keep my daughter's fine hair under control, non slip hair clips.

In early 2010, Heart on Your Sleeve was renamed to AbbeyJ, which thanks to the encouragement from my family and friends, has now developed into a successful small business and appears in a number of high quality boutiques throughout Australia.

I am a work at home mum to two adorable children and love designing and creating new things (resulting in our ever expanding large range of products)! All products are made from high quality materials and are handcrafted from the heart with love and great attention to detail.

My aim is to create jewellery with meaning, children's accessories that are fun to wear and to provide you with a product of the highest quality in a friendly and helpful manner.

I hope you love wearing your jewellery and accessories as much as I've loved making it for you.

Tennille
